The food processor is used a lot at our house. I have a few go-to recipes (banana ice cream, larabars, chocolate chip cookies...) where I just throw the ingredients in, blend and bake (or freeze). Quick and easy! I picked this one up a couple years ago at a garage sale for $15. It was either brand new or barely used. I now use it at least weekly. Watch for a good sale and pick one up if you don't already have one. Here are some of my favourite food processor recipes... So last night I was looking for a pre-bedtime snack for Ashton...and me. We had just got home from camping and had a pretty bare fridge and panty. I always keep chopped, ripe bananas in the freezer for smoothies so I brought those out. Threw some in the food processor, added a splash of almond milk and a dollop of nut butter and blended. It quickly turns to a creamy consistency just like ice cream. I like to either add some vanilla extract and some mini dark chocolate chips or cocoa powder for a chocolate ice cream. It took less than 5 minutes to whip up! It is so tasty and so nourishing. No refined sugar and no potentially inflammatory dairy or added junk ingredients. It also is an extremely cheap snack especially if you buy your bananas ripe and discounted. This has become a weekly snack at our house.
