Your Challenge for this month:
Keep a journal or note pad by your bed. Every morning (right when you wake) or every night (right when you go to bed), write down 5 things you are grateful for from that day.
Try to really feel it though. You can say "I'm grateful for my home, my car..." but might not have any emotion behind it, you might just think, that's something I should be grateful for. But really think about and it and really feel it. Feel that love for your children as you write down the things you are grateful for about them, feel that pride as you think about the home you live in. Adding emotion to the mix will really change things. And all it takes is 5 minutes a day. This 5 minutes can make a big shift in your happiness throughout the day. Scientifically speaking, it strengthens those neural pathways.
When you are in the habit of making gratitude lists, you will soon stop and notice all these nice little things throughout the day.
Want to go next level? The Five Minute Journal is great! It asks you, not just what you are grateful for but a few other important questions...and just takes 5 minutes out of your day.
Wishing you health and happiness!
